Vice President of Human Resources
Michael is responsible for developing and directing the activities of EMCOR Services Mesa Energy’s human resources department, including employee hiring, training, retention, communications, and more.
Michael manages the recruitment and interview process, preparing job offers, compiling employment packages, and conducting background checks. For current employees, he oversees management training and career development programs; helps select, promote, and process benefit offerings; and works to enable systemic, rigorous, and fair performance evaluations.
In addition, Michael coordinates employee communications and ensures that all employee handbooks are up to date. His various other duties include ad hoc reporting on new hires, overseeing promotions, keeping employment forms up to date, and tracking benefits costs.
Michael’s efforts are vital for attracting and retaining a team with the skills and expertise necessary to succeed in even the most challenging facilities environments.
An experienced industry veteran, Michael began his career in accounting and payroll but quickly gravitated toward human resources positions. In 2003, he joined EMCOR Facilities Services as a Union Labor Analyst before becoming a part of the Mesa team in 2008.
Michael earned his bachelor’s degree in business from California State University, Fullerton with a concentration in finance. Additionally, he obtained a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) designation through the Society of Human Resources Management and has attended a range of other industry and professional training programs.
Michael and his wife have two children and a dog. He enjoys spending his free time with family and friends, as well as mountain biking, snowboarding, and traveling.
